These systems can be used in a variety of markets and applications, yet reliable long-term service of the battery and system is the common challenge across all applications.<\/p><p>Hence\u00a0<strong>the BattMan project<\/strong>\u00a0addresses these key components and focuses on off-grid, solar-powered street lighting poles as a challenging demonstrator.\u00a0<strong>Battman<\/strong>\u00a0has developed a new lithium-ion battery manufacturing process featuring the rollout of smart control algorithms for state-of-charge and state-of-health in the BMS coupled with a new method to jointly calculate the battery bank.<\/p><p>Simulating the new lithium-ion battery manufacturing helped to decide on the most appropriate designs and also determine the optimal technology for each vehicle class.<\/p><p><strong>Programme and call:\u00a0<\/strong>Project funded by the \u201cCooperation\u201d: Joint Technology Initiatives programme<\/p><p><strong>Period:\u00a0<\/strong>2012-2015<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Designing and developing battery systems which efficiently manage the long-term photovoltaic energy supply Batteries and battery management systems are the essential storage components in any solar-powered application.
